DESCRIPTION:Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Malvern (and friends) are ne
 eded to help out at RIMERN from 1030 - 1230 to help sort donations. Rotary
  Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network Inc (RIMERN) is a multi-club Cen
 tenary of Rotary in Australia project\, that is continuing the community s
 ervice work of Eastern Emergency Relief Network (EERN) in Mitcham and West
 ern Emergency Relief Network (WERN) in Ravenshall\, bridging the two estab
 lished services across greater Melbourne as a central source of donated ne
 w and second-hand furniture\, appliances and household goods for people re
 quiring support who are introduced by a range of member relief agencies an
 d organisations. Our clients may have suffered from a range of crises\, in
 cluding long term illness\, unemployment\, domestic violence or homelessne
 ss\, refugee displacement\, incarceration or other situations of hardship.
  These clients can only access our goods through the Member Agencies of RI
 MERN. Where does RIMERN operate? RIMERN supports people of inner Melbourne
 \, ie. the cities of Stonnington\, Glen Eira\, Port Philip\, Melbourne\, Y
 arra\, Darebin\, east Moreland\, south Banyule and northern Bayside. How i
 s RIMERN funded? The cost of running RIMERN (rent\, outgoings\, utilities\
 , vehicle costs\, rubbish disposal\, administration and cleaning) is appro
 ximately $100\,000 per annum\, funded by member Rotary Clubs\, Member Agen
 cy annual fees\, philanthropic Grants\, Rotary Grant funding and other fun
 draising. From time to time\, RIMERN may sell donated goods that are unsui
 table for clients’ homes\, raising additional operating funds.
